Ladies Golf Association

at St. Clair Country Club

History of the LGA

Founded in 1966, the St. Clair Country Club Ladies Golf Association has long been a driving force in the traditions and culture of our club. LGA members have generously supported local charity golfing events, including Memorial Hospital, Rally for a Cure, SwingForetheCure, Illinois Center for Autism (ICA) and West End Redevelopment Corporation (WERC). Our LGA members have also been generous supporting our St. Clair family and staff in challenging times. We also have off-season dinner clubs, GNO's and book clubs.

The LGA offers "league" play on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 am (18 holes) and 10:00 am (9 holes). The formats are fun and varied, but the First Wednesdays are always Scrambles. We enjoy lunches together after golf, and any social members are invited to join about 12:30 pm (before mahjong). We collect quarters in pools for Birdies and ChipIns, and we track Ringers all season for prizes at Closing Day. Attendance in LGA events is well rewarded with shop credit! We're very excited to honor our longest-playing LGA member by kicking off the 2025 season with "The Tottie Bastler Opening Day Scramble."

For social golfers, LGA also plays Thursday evenings at 5ish for 9 holes and 6ish for 5 holes. There's often an on-course cocktail special, and our ladies like to dine on the patio afterwards. Swim mom's can always make it back by 7ish for second half swim meet timing duties. For more competitive golfers, the LGA hosts five major tournaments: Spring, Member-Guest Day, Summer, The Marilyn Read Club Championship, and Past Presidents/Grandmothers (combo). The LGA hosts Couples Nights (TBD) which always have fun themes! Everyone joins in the fun with costumes, cart decorations and themed dinners. Guests are welcome!
